How DontPikMe handles data
DontPikMe helps visitors compare live shows by estimated pick-me risk. This policy explains what data may be processed when you browse the site or click a ticket provider link.
1. What we collect
DontPikMe is designed to collect as little personal information as practical. We may process:
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referrer, pages viewed, timestamps, and basic error logs.
- Approximate location signals inferred by hosting, security, analytics, or ticket provider systems, such as country or city level information.
- Optional browser location if you choose to use the nearby-shows feature. Coordinates are rounded before event listings are requested.
- Search, filter, city, and risk preference interactions on DontPikMe pages. These are used to operate the page and may be captured in aggregate analytics.
- Google Analytics data such as page views, approximate geography, device and browser information, referrer, session activity, and similar usage signals.
- Affiliate click data, such as the page you clicked from, the ticket link destination, timestamp, and referral identifiers needed to attribute qualifying purchases.
- Messages or details you choose to send us by email or another contact method.
DontPikMe does not directly collect payment card details, Ticketmaster account passwords, booking references, or checkout information. Ticket purchases happen on the ticket provider's website.
2. How we use data
We use data to:
- Operate, secure, cache, debug, and improve DontPikMe.
- Load current event listings through the Ticketmaster Discovery API.
- Find nearby shows when you ask the browser to share approximate location.
- Rank and display events by estimated pick-me risk.
- Measure which pages, cities, categories, and ticket links are useful through Google Analytics and similar reporting.
- Attribute affiliate commissions where a ticket provider or affiliate network supports that attribution.
- Respond to support, privacy, or business enquiries.
3. Ticketmaster and other ticket providers
DontPikMe uses Ticketmaster-powered event data and may link to Ticketmaster or other ticket providers. When you click a ticket link, you leave DontPikMe. The destination provider may collect personal information, set cookies, process payment, and apply its own terms and privacy policy.
If you use the nearby-shows feature, DontPikMe may send rounded coordinates to the Ticketmaster Discovery API to request events near that approximate location.
Review the privacy policy and terms on the ticket provider's site before creating an account, buying tickets, or submitting payment information.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
DontPikMe does not currently require account cookies. Hosting, security, Google Analytics, or affiliate systems may use cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar technologies to operate the site, protect it from abuse, understand usage, or attribute ticket link referrals.
You can use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Some third-party ticket checkout flows may not work correctly if cookies are blocked.
5. Who processes data for us
Depending on the final production setup, data may be processed by:
- Hosting and deployment providers, including Netlify.
- Event data providers, including Ticketmaster Discovery API services.
- Analytics providers, including Google Analytics.
- Affiliate networks or ticket providers used to track qualifying referrals.
- Analytics, monitoring, security, email, or support tools added by DontPikMe.
6. Retention
We keep data only as long as reasonably needed for site operation, analytics, security, affiliate attribution, legal compliance, or support. Hosting logs, affiliate records, and provider-side data may follow the retention schedules of those providers.
7. International visitors
DontPikMe may be accessed globally. Your data may be processed in countries other than where you live, depending on the hosting, analytics, affiliate, and ticket provider systems involved.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain uses of your personal information. You may also have rights to opt out of certain analytics, targeted advertising, or sale/share activities if those are introduced later.
To make a privacy request, contact contact@dontpik.me. Replace this address before launch if you use a different privacy inbox.
9. Children
DontPikMe is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site, affiliate relationships, analytics tools, or legal requirements change. The updated date at the top shows when the current version took effect.
